Interim CDC Guidance for Fully Vaccinated Individuals
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recently issued new guidance for individuals who have been fully vaccinated with one of the three approved COVID-19 vaccines. To be fully vaccinated means that you have received your second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and two weeks have passed, or you received your single dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine and two weeks have passed.
Once you are fully vaccinated you can:
- Visit other fully vaccinated people indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing*
- Visit unvaccinated people from a single household who are at low risk for severe COVID-19 disease indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing
Quarantine Change for those who are fully vaccinated:*
- If it has been at least two weeks but not more than three months since your last dose of the vaccine you no longer need to quarantine and test following a known exposure if you are asymptomatic
Fully vaccinated individuals should still follow all COVID mitigation measures when in public; these include:
- Wearing a mask and practicing social distancing
- Frequent hand washing
- Sanitizing high-touch surfaces
- Staying home if sick
*While this interim guidance will provide new personal flexibilities, please note that at SCCCD, our COVID-19 Illness Prevention Measures and quarantine/self-isolation procedures have not changed while we evaluate and consider the new guidelines. When on campus or the District Office, you must still wear a mask, social distance from others, and exercise clean hand hygiene and work area sanitation.
Thank you all for your continued diligence in following our workplace safety practices.
