Chancellor's Message Regarding Ukraine
I am sure you are all aware that Russia has attacked Ukraine. My thoughts are with the Ukrainians who are experiencing the bombing attacks, their neighboring countrymen, as well as those who are here in our community watching the devastation on the news.
I know that many members of our community are concerned for their friends and family in the Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Therefore, I encourage students who have feelings of fear and uncertainty to talk to someone, be it an instructor, campus nurse, or friend. We are here for you.
The District sponsors the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees who may be experiencing emotions and feelings as a result of images and conversations of war. The program provides confidential, professional referrals and face-to-face counseling for a wide array of personal and work-related concerns. EAP can be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the District pays 100% of the premium. The toll-Free number is 1 (888) HAL- 4800.
I hope we see a swift and peaceful resolution to this unfolding situation. Until then, please use the resources that are available to you.
Regards,
Dr. Carole Goldsmith
Chancellor
