Staggered Staff Schedules

Mar 10, 2022 — Good morning colleagues,

This communication is a follow-up to the February 14th message entitled COVID-19 Mask Update. In that message, I shared that “we will continue to maintain staggered schedules for many classified professionals and counselors in service areas previously designated to work a modified in-person service schedule.” I also shared that I would be following up at the end of the month.

While our community health indicators are improving, we are not at levels that we would like to see in order to move back to a pre-pandemic congregate work environment setting. We also know that many of our employees have school-age children and have had to isolate their child and family as COVID is still prevalent in our community. Similarly, we continue to have employees who need to isolate because they have either contracted COVID or have come into close contact with someone who has tested positive. These are just a few of the reasons that I have decided that it is prudent for our District to continue staggered schedules through the month of March for those classified professionals and counselors in service areas previously designated to work a modified in-person service schedule.

Like you, I am tired of COVID and I don’t like wearing a mask. Like you, I would like to see all our colleagues and students back in-person. As your Chancellor, working with the District COVID Taskforce team, I will continue to monitor our District and regional health conditions. I also pledge to move forward with transparency and provide you all with timely updates.

Sincerely,

Dr. Carole Goldsmith

Chancellor
